My Religious Experience:
At a young age, my grandma took me to Nichiren Temple in Japan. Later in my life I came to America and found out that there was a Nichiren Buddhist Temple located in Los Angeles.
After my son was born, I kept my Nichiren religion and prayed a lot. My son also learned to pray Odaimoku. He also went to Nichiren Sunday school.
A long time ago, my son had a terrible accident. He was found at the bottom of a swimming pool. Paramedics tried their best to revive my son, but he was still unconscious. They asked me to call his name. I pulled off his Omamori (amulet) from his neck and put it on his body. I prayed hard chanting Odaimoku while rubbing his whole body with the amulet.
At this time he began to throw up more water from his mouth. The paramedics took him to the emergency hospital. At the hospital, the doctor said there were no water found in his lung. "IT'S A MIRACLE ," since he was at the bottom of the swimming pool for a long time.
My son said "Odaimoku saved my life." After the accident, he visited the doctor many more times for check ups, but everything was OK! Last year he went to Chiba University in Japan and to his surprise he found out that Chiba - Kominato was the birthplace of Nichiren Daishonin.
